Edits: Jane Haze’s Gig

After the gig, I went straight home to edit all of the images so that Jane Haze could post them that same night and stay current on all of her social media platforms.

I believe that the photos above are the strongest images of the whole shoot. They capture the breadth of emotion that only an artist can communicate while performing, completely losing themselves to the music in front of an audience. The way the artist immersed herself in her music, pouring her heart out on stage, was truly captivating. Although the colours in these two images don’t match Jane Haze’s brand of violet, they communicate a soft, feminine energy that’s prevalent when seeing her perform live. These images convey a sense of intimacy and vulnerability that is so rarely captured in live performances. Jane Haze decided not to use them, but I will include them in my submission, as I believe they are too powerful to be overlooked.

Upon analysing the two images presented above, it can be observed that both hold a significant amount of power. However, the use of colours in the images tends to be quite distracting, and the emotions conveyed in them are rather obvious. In comparison, the previous two images possess a certain degree of complexity in their portrayal of emotions. Despite this, Jane Haze seems to prefer the image on the left as it matches her brand’s purple colour scheme.

I am extremely satisfied with the results of the photo shoot and the stunning, high-quality images I was able to capture since I had no prior experience with these types of photo shoots. This gig has allowed me to gain more knowledge and experience in capturing live performances, not just with Jane Haze, but also with her opening act. I am grateful for this opportunity as it allows me to improve my skills in handling these types of shoots. With this experience, I aim to produce even more successful images for my musician, especially after the last photoshoot that didn’t provide my intended outcome.
